Quietly flows the river...

December 25, 2010 - Tunga River, Sringeri

Sringeri is a holy town in the Malnad (Western Ghats) region of Karnataka. Here the temples of Goddess Sharadamba and Lord Vidyashankara are located on the banks of River Tunga. There is a bridge connecting the other side of the river where the Peetham is established. Meals are offered to all the devotees visiting the shrine. The atmosphere here is very relaxing and one feels rejuvenated after spending some time here in the evening.
